Update from Nationals! The first half is now complete at the 2024 Canadian Lawn Bowling Championship and we are now on to the second half. For the first half events, both of our teams fought valiantly but will not advance with the Women’s Triples (3-4) and Women’s Pairs (2-5) respectively. The second half kicked off strong for Team Nova Scotia as they began their campaigns in the Women’s Singles and Fours events. In the Women’s Singles, it was a split day for Vicki Balcom as she won a tight match in straight sets over Quebec’s Anne Morissette (6-6, 6-5) while dropping a tiebreak match to Saskatchewan’s Heather Hanoski (12-3, 2-14, 0-1). In the Women’s Fours, it was a nailbiter performance for Tammy Foster-Veinot, Jackie Foster, Ann Marie Siteman and Lorraine Bezanson as they won a strong straight sets victory over Quebec (6-3, 6-1) and dropping an extremely tight decision to Saskatchewan (4-4, 4-3). Nova Scotia continues their campaign tomorrow with 3 matches- facing Manitoba, Alberta and Ontario B. Stay tuned for more updates along the way as the team goes for gold!
