It was an exciting day at the Dartmouth Lawn Bowls Club as we kicked off the 2026 season of competitive lawn bowls action with this year’s edition of the Dartmouth LBC Early Bird Mixed Triples! This year’s edition featured 16 top notch teams from across Nova Scotia eager to battle it out for this year’s title and a share of the prize purse. The competition was top notch across the 6 rounds of play with lots of games coming down to the last bowl. Congratulations to Steve Ogden, Vicki Balcom and Lorraine Bezanson- who went 6-0 (+26) to capture this year’s championship title! Runner-Up for this year was John Siteman, Ann Marie Siteman and Raymond MacDonald- who went 5-1 (+21) across the 6 sessions to take out the silver medal position. 3rd Place went to Grahame Usher, Joy Moreside and Rick Fry (5-1, +16) while 4th Place went to Keith Finck, Nancy Latimer and Rick Latimer (4-1-1, +18). Thanks to Dartmouth for hosting a great event once again (led by DLBC Match Chair Debby Purdy), our umpires Joan MacDonald and Paul Knox, all the kitchen volunteers, the markers who helped out in the Singles games and all the fans who came to cheer on the players as they hit the greens. Up next on the 2026 Season schedule, we take some time to celebrate the sport we all love with the 10th Annual National Bowls Day (with events across the province to introduce our communities to the sport).
