Ogden and Balcom win Janet Merry Mixed Pairs

was an exciting day of lawn bowls on the greens in Dartmouth yesterday as the Janet Merry Mixed Pairs! Hosted by the Bedford Lawn Bowls Club, the event had 16 teams from across Nova Scotia take to the greens looking for the title of champion and their share of the prize purse for this year.
Congratulations to Steve Ogden and Vicki Balcom of Dartmouth- who went 4-0 to take out this year’s Janet Merry Mixed Pairs title. 2nd place went to the Bedford duo of Doug McLearn and Betty MacAlpine (4-0). 3rd place went to the Grahame Usher and Joy Moreside of Wanderers (3-1). 4th place went to Kevin Colvey and Debbie Tower of Dartmouth (3-1).
The Bedford Lawn Bowls Club want to thank the following for their support of the tournament:

• Umpires Daniel Sirois and Jerry Publow for helping facilitate play throughout the day.

• Match Chair Tim O’Hearn for serving as tournament chair and statistician throughout the event.
  
• Nancy Sinclair- Bedford’s honorary “Mom” for the day- who made sure everyone was looked after, you checked in with every team, offered encouragement and coaching, and helped keep the day running smoothly.
