Siteman, Siteman & MacDonald Defend Title at Cobequid Triples

8/16/2025

It was an exciting Saturday of lawn bowls on the carpet of the Cobequid Lawn Bowls Club for their annual Cobequid Open Triples tournament! This year, 10 teams from across Nova Scotia made their way to Truro to battle it out for top honours. The competition was extremely tight- coming right down to a 1 bowl roll-off to decide this year’s champion. The defending champions John Siteman, Ann Marie Siteman and Raymond MacDonald of Dartmouth finished tied at 3-0 alongside Dave Mitchell, Peter Saunders and George Wood of Cobequid. After the tie was announced, everyone made their way out to Rinkside to cheer on John and Dave in the final bowl-off. In the end, it was John who finished closer to the jack and his team defended their title in Truro for a second year in a row. Third Place went to Gordon Taylor, Keith Cheyne and Wayne Creelman of Cobequid while fourth place went to Steve Ogden, Rick Fry and Vicki Balcom of Dartmouth. Thanks to Cobequid for hosting an excellent tournament, Tournament Chair Bill Wesley, Head Umpire Jerry Publow, the greens crew, the kitchen team and everyone else who helped make the event a success! Up next on the LBNS Provincial Schedule, we head back to Halifax for the Wanderers Mix-And-Match Pairs tomorrow.
