It was an exciting day at the Wanderers Lawn Bowling Club in Downtown Halifax as they hosted their 2nd Annual “Mix and Match” Open Drawn Pairs. The event was a full field of 32 players which teamed up one experienced player with one novice player. The competition was fierce across the greens, with lots of great games and great shotmaking across the rinks! Congratulations to the team of Kevin Stewart and Moka Case who won this year’s competition with a 3-0 record (21 ends won, +25). 2nd Place went to Debby Purdy and Lucas Matheson (3-0, 20 ends won, +29). 3rd Place went to Chris Cooper and Sandra MacPherson (3-0, 17 ends won, +15). Thanks to WLBC Secretary Hilary Jarvis for coordinating the day, Debby Purdy for serving as scorekeeper and all those who helped behind the scenes to make the event a success. Up next on the LBNS Calendar, we have a weekend off from interclub tournament play before the Joe Tidd Memorial Open Triples hits the greens of the Bridgetown Lawn Bowls Club on September 26th.
