Tower, Mitchell and Settle Win Clarke Women's Triples at Dartmouth

​It was an exciting Sunday of lawn bowls action today at the Dartmouth Lawn Bowls Club as the Clarke Women’s Triples took to the greens! One of the exciting events of the year featuring experienced vets and novice players- the competition was fierce with 10 top teams battling it out all day long.
Congratulations to Debbie Tower, Debbie Mitchell and Susan Settle on winning this year’s title in a comeback win over their clubmates Nora Clark, Martha Muggah and Kristin Payn-Smith. The final was quite tight throughout, with the match level at 7-7 through 9 ends. Facing a 3 shot deficit with one end to play, Tower, Mitchell and Settle put together some great draw shots in the final end to score 4 and win 11-10 to take out the Clarke Trophy title.
In the 3rd Place Game, was another battle of Dartmouth as Joyce Anderson, Charmaine Cameron and Judy Settle defeated their clubmates Karen Church, Karen Harrie and Barb Mueltner to take out the bronze medal position. With the matchup level at 5-5 through 7 ends of play, Anderson, Cameron and Settle outscored their opposition 12-2 over the final five ends to take out the win 17-7.
Thanks to the Dartmouth Lawn Bowls Club for hosting the event, Club Match Chair Debby Purdy for organizing, the umpires, the awesome crew who helped organize the meal and many many more. It made for an awesome day of fun around the greens even if the weather wasn’t too kind!
