Campbell, Foster-Veinot win Provincial Fours Championships in Bedford

It was an exciting weekend at the Bedford Lawn Bowls Club as we determined our second set of Provincials to head off to the 2023 Canadian Lawn Bowling Championship with this year's Provincial Fours Championship!

In the Men's Fours, it was the defending champions Braeden Campbell, Raymond MacDonald, John Siteman and Liam Campbell (Bridgetown/Dartmouth) who took out this year's title with a hard fought series win over the Wanderers based combo of Terry O'Neil, Rick Fry, Mike Ritchie and Grahame Usher (22-15 and 18-14 to win the series). With both teams headed to the 2022 Canadian Lawn Bowling Championship, it's expected that we'll see another great battle between these two teams when they represent Nova Scotia in Burlington.

In the Women's Fours, it took until 10pm on Sunday night for the defending champions Tammy Foster-Veinot, Jackie Foster, Debbie Foster and Lorraine Bezanson (Bridgetown/Wanderers) to take out this year's championship in a hard fought 16-10 Gold Medal Tie-Breaker win over the Dartmouth based combo of Debbie Tower, Ann Marie Siteman, Nancy Latimer and Vicki Balcom. It was a tight battle the whole way between the two teams (all of which will be representing Nova Scotia in Burlington this year in various team events) where Team Tower took the victory in the morning session over Team Foster-Veinot before following it up with a win over their clubmates Team Joyce Anderson to force the late evening exciting tie-breaker finale to the Women's tournament.

Both Team Campbell and Team Foster-Veinot advance on to represent Nova Scotia at the 2023 Canadian Lawn Bowling Championship (with host to be announced at a later date). Thanks to the Bedford Lawn Bowls Club for their great hospitality in running an awesome Provincial Fours Championship. Up next on our LBNS Provincial Schedule, we head next week to the St. Mary's Lawn Bowls Club for the Atlantic Bowls Pairs Trials!

Foster, Veinot win Bridgetown Silver Fox Open Pairs

It was a great day of bowls this past weekend as the EW “Silver Fox” Foster Open Pairs took to the greens of the Bridgetown Lawn Bowling Club. Congratulations to the team of David Veinot and Jackie Foster who took out this year’s championship title. Jeff Veinot and Jerry Publow secured 2nd place in the event. Thanks to all who participated and hope to see you all in Bridgetown next season for another great Silver Fox Open Pairs tournament!
